It is the first time that such a young woman from a Mafia family rebels and betrays the Mafia. From that moment on, Rita's days are numbered. She only has nine months to live...

Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei, meaning in english "the fat years are over is" (os dias de abundância acabaram), is a German expression referring to a period in which one enjoys considerable success and indulges oneself heavily, and is now over. The statement is used like original title working at same time as a leit motiv for the movie.

In the story, three young anti-capitalist activists living in Berlin city centre, plan together a kidnapping plot after they encounter a businessman in his home.

The goalkeeper of a little-known soccer team is kidnapped by a Argentinian government squad and sent to a detention center. After months of torture, he plots his escape with three other young comrades.

"Crónica de una fuga" makes you have an idea of what many suspected left activists when through in Argentina during the 1976-1983 military dictatorship; can also serve the purpose of directing attention to what could happen nowadays in countries without democratic regimes.
